Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Losses from incorrect usage, bugs, smart contract vulnerabilities, or market conditions are the sole responsibility of the user.
Blockchain and Smart Contract Risks
Using web3agent involves interacting with blockchain networks and smart contracts. These carry inherent risks:
- Irreversibility: Blockchain transactions cannot be undone once confirmed. There is no recourse for funds sent to the wrong address or lost in a failed transaction.
- Smart contract risk: The protocols integrated by web3agent (Orbs, LI.FI, Uniswap, Balancer, and others) are governed by smart contracts. Bugs or vulnerabilities in those contracts could result in loss of funds.
- Market risk: Token prices are volatile. The value of assets held or traded through web3agent can decrease significantly or go to zero.
- Liquidity risk: Trades may fail or execute at unfavorable prices if liquidity is insufficient.
- Network risk: Blockchain networks can experience congestion, outages, or forks that affect transaction execution.
- Key management risk: Loss of a private key means permanent loss of access to the associated wallet and all funds in it. There is no password recovery.
User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for:
- Securing their private keys and mnemonics
- Verifying transaction details before signing or confirming
- Understanding the protocols and smart contracts they interact with
- Complying with applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction
- Any tax obligations arising from blockchain transactions
Third-Party Services
web3agent integrates with third-party services and APIs. The availability, accuracy, and terms of those services are outside the control of the web3agent maintainers. Third-party services may change their APIs, rate limits, or terms of service at any time.
Jurisdiction
Blockchain regulations vary by jurisdiction. Users are responsible for determining whether their use of web3agent complies with local laws. The software is not intended for use in jurisdictions where such use would be prohibited.
